Phi Eta Psi

Our local sorority, Phi Eta Psi, was founded in the fall of 1994 and accepted into IGC on October 8th, 1996. We were formed because of our uniqueness and desire to form a sorority that could benefit the community. The origin of our letters comes from Philia, meaning Love, Hedonia, meaning Happiness and Knossis, meaning Knowledge. The Phetas were founded as the "friendly sorority."

Our foundations

Who we are

We firmly believe that an organization should inspire the young women within it. The Phetas are comprised of women who are active on campus and off, and who have close friends within and outside of the organization.

The Pheta Sisters encourage all those who are interested in a bond of love, friendship, happiness and knowledge to come and hang out with us and see what true sisterhood is all about.

  Philanthropies

The Phetas have participated in various volunteer events. We pride ourselves in our dedication to volunteer work.

Some of our previous volunteer work includes participation in the Lupus Foundation Walk in Rochester, the Breast Cancer Walk in Rochester, and the March of Dimes. We have also participated in Geneseo's Day of Caring.

Each year we participate in Relay for Life. This semester we are planning on participating in an Alzheimer's walk and getting involved in Habitat for Cats, and more.

We are always looking for new ways to better the community through volunteer work, and we take every opportunity to lend a helping hand.
