Phi Eta Psi​
Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority was founded on November 4, 1899 at Michigan State Normal College (now called Eastern Michigan University). Alpha Sigma Tau was founded as an educational sorority, but became a Panhellenic group in 1947

The sorority now has 80 active chapters and colonies nationwide.

Philanthropies
Alpha Sigma Tau
Alpha Sigma Tau's official philanthropy is Pine Mountain Settlement School. Its official service project is Habitat for Humanity. Individual chapters usually participate in their own philanthropic projects in addition to the above projects.
